Students enrolled in the Teacher U at Hunter College program pursue a master’s degree in education at Hunter College while serving as full-time teachers in New York City public schools. Enrolled teachers serve in New York City’s district and charter schools, as well as a small number of schools in New Jersey, Connecticut, and other districts in New York State. Teacher U is designed for novice teachers (0-2 years experience) teaching in elementary and middle schools, but also serves some more seasoned teachers.

The 2010 Teacher U at Hunter College Application Packet will be available in March 2010. Application deadlines are as follows:
- Current teachers (remaining at current school): Friday, May 14, 2010, 5pm
- Teachers hired at a new school for 2010-2011 year: Tuesday, June 15, 2010, 5pm
